Your car broke down on the highway. Do these six things.
- Hazard lights on
the moment you feel it. Ease left; get fully off the carriageway if you can.
- Everyone out, left side, behind the barrier.
Never stand behind or beside the car in traffic.
- Warning triangle 50 metres back
if you have one. At night, keep the parking lights on.
- Share your live location
on WhatsApp with someone — and with us. Note the nearest kilometre stone.
- Call for help before you open the bonnet.
On a national highway, 1033 is the NHAI helpline; we’ll get a truck moving in parallel.
- Don’t accept a random tow.
Ask for the price and the destination first. If it isn’t clear, wait for ours.
